Casalvento offers 8 different selections of Juniperus Communis berries to satisfy every need of master distillers and liqueur makers. We have been collecting juniper berries in Chianti for over 60 years, we know which botanical type is the best for aroma, how to select and preserve it. The juniper is an original botanical whose cost depends on the time to collect and clean it but the varieties in nature are many (Communis, Oxycedrus, Sabina, Pheniceum, Deltoides, Macrocarpa, etc.) and often coexisting in the same habitat, it is necessary to know them to collect the right cultivar avoiding toxic plants and diseased berries
