How can a resin be considered a “botanical”? The plant releases this liquid substance from its resin channels when its bark is damaged in some way. The resin protects the vital layers of the plant from external stress and therefore has many active as well as balsamic ingredients. Always used for fumigations and sacred rites, it is now used in small doses by some distilleries for the production of original liqueurs and spirits. Today in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical sectors there is increasing use of titrated extracts of this particular product from the plant world
